Quilt Making by Hand with Cassandra

Learn all the skills, from cutting to piecing to quilting, to make a small quilt entirely by hand. No sewing experience is necessary .

First quilting project!

Well, here's my take on the Denyse Schmidt 'hold me close heating pad cover'...

                              

I really love it! I decided to keep it simple and stick to 2 main pieces of fabric, one for the front and one for the back. I randomly applied some applique and embroidery onto the front piece before sewing the sides together.

                                 

The fabric is from Purl Patchwork (missing that place!) and the cotton wadding is from The Tabbycat.

I really enjoyed applying the flowers to the front...

It also works as a cover for my laptop!
